Delete your account
You can permanently remove your IC Buddy account and every symptom entry, food log, medication record, and note tied to it. There is no retention trick, no “soft-delete” that lingers for a year, and no exit survey between you and the button.
1. The fastest path: delete from the app
If you have the IC Buddy app installed and can sign in, this is the quickest option—it takes two taps and requires no email back and forth.
- Open IC Buddy on your phone.
- Go to Settings › Account › Delete account.
- Confirm. Your device wipes local data immediately; cloud records are queued for deletion within 30 days.
2. Request deletion from this page
If you can’t access the app—lost phone, uninstalled, locked out—submit the form below and we’ll handle it manually. We respond from icbuddy.support@gmail.com within two business days.
3. What gets deleted
- Your IC Buddy account record (email, hashed password, sign-in tokens).
- Every symptom entry, food log, medication record, flare note, and free-text diary entry in your cloud backup.
- Any exported reports stored server-side on your behalf.
- Crash reports and diagnostic logs linked to your account.
4. What we keep, and for how long
A short record of the deletion itself—email, timestamp, and the fact that you asked—is retained for up to 12 months to prove we honored your request if it’s ever questioned. If you ever became a paying user, we also keep the minimum billing records that tax law requires us to keep. Nothing medical is retained.
5. Export first, if you want a copy
Deletion is permanent—we cannot restore entries afterward. If you want your data before it goes, open Settings › Privacy › Export all data in the app, or email icbuddy.support@gmail.com and we’ll send you a portable file.
6. Timeline
- Immediately: sign-in is revoked; the account can no longer be used.
- Within 24 hours: cloud diary entries are marked for deletion and removed from live systems.
- Within 30 days: deletion propagates to encrypted backups and is complete.
